Hi All,

I now have Funke radio modules available. These ones have a 3d printed cover for the electronics however the main structure that stabilises the connectors is cnc machined aluminium.

It has all the same features as my Trig modules, except that it runs off the aircraft bus directly so the power supply is good for 6 to 60 volts. It's very compact too, adding only 28mm to the existing connector length. You can connect an EFIS or Autopilot etc.. to the spare serial port and only the required radio control packets are filtered and sent to the Funke radio.

For anyone interested they are available here

Hello,
I am trying to connect my TQ KRT2 radio to SkyDemon using a Bluetooth adapter (this one: https://ogn.ibisek.com/index.php/en/2022/04/20/krt2-bluetooth/).
The adapter is powered and wired to the radio, but SkyDemon on both iPad and Android does not detect any Bluetooth device. I cannot see the adapter in the SkyDemon connectivity menu.
Has anyone successfully used this type of adapter with SkyDemon?
Do I need a special BLE-RS232 module (instead of classic Bluetooth)?
Should the KRT2 display the “r” symbol when connected?
Is there a specific SkyDemon setting I am missing?
Any advice or experience would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Hanysz,
SkyDemon only supports BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) devices for setting radio frequencies. These devices work without prior configuration in the smartphone's Bluetooth environment (iPhone/iPad and Android). "Regular Bluetooth adapters" for audio/headsets, printers, and other peripherals don't work here. You don't need to configure these adapters in the smartphone's Bluetooth environment— no, you're actually not allowed to. You won't find a device.

Simply go to "Third-Party Devices" in SkyDemon or "Connectivity" in the English version (which is currently inconsistent). Select the adapter you find, assign it a function (radio, autopilot, etc.) and a manufacturer for the protocol, and you're done.

Here's another tip:

To find a BLE adapter on an Android device, not only the "Bluetooth" service but also the "Locator" service must be enabled.
We receive many support requests regarding these settings.

Regarding the specifically requested KRT2 adapter - here is the link:

Cheers,
Michael

For TQ KRT2 to work with SkyDemon you need a BLE-Bluetooth.

I suggest, for mechanical reasons, to use an adapter with cables to your radios connector and not an "in between plug".

I produce this one:
https://www.utronix.se/Aviation/index.html

I have designed it from the ground, written the firmware, designed the PCB etc. It is designed for harsh environment and is potted with urethane to make it handle the moist and the vibrations in an aircraft. It has large data buffers too.

No, sorry.

:-( some tick button like "Remember my choice" would be really appreciated... and if connection to BT fails, then ask again to select device...

Thanks. Looks like we have already implemented protection against that in the forthcoming 4.1 release.

Can confirm that crash with the AR6201 is indeed fixed in the latest release.

Now the radio Microair M760Q can be controlled from Skydemon.

It is a 25 kHz radio so only x00, x25, x50, and x75 kHz frequencies can be set.
x05, x30, x55, x80 has the same frequencies as those above and are also transferred to the radio. These have a more narrow bandwidth and are more precise but many people still use 25kHz radios for this.

Set Skydemon to "GTR225" and Aviation Companion to "mode 1".
